Revlon - The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Electric Chrome Nail Enamel

In order to introduce The Amazing Spider-Man 2, one of the year's hottest film, Revlon has teamed up with Sony Pictures to launch an exclusive make-up collection inspired by the "electric" theme of the film.

The Electric Chrome Collection features three new shades of Super Lustrous Lipgloss and six new shades of Revlon's iconic Nail Enamel.

I've been testing Revlon Electric Chrome Nail Enamel, let's see them more in depth.

The six shades are Spidey Sense, Gwen's Crush, Electrified Web, 1000 Volts, I'm Electro and Super-Powered.

Here are my swatches (with 2 coats):

Spidey Sense

Gwen's Crush

Electrified Web

1000 Volts

I'm Electro

Super-Powered

I'm totally in love with these shades, especially with Gwen's Crush. The quality of the nail polish is very good, as it provides great and uniform coverage after 2 coats. What's special about these nail polishes is that they contain "glowing glass pearls" that give them a duochrome glass-fleck finish.

Alpha H - Liquid Gold Smoothing and Perfecting Mask

(per l'italiano scorri in fondo al post)

I'm a big fan of Alpha H and if you follow me on Instagram as well you might already know it (if not just click on the Instagram icon in the side bar and follow me :))

This brand is not available in stores like most of other brands, but you can get it on QVC or online. If you live in Switzerland like me you will necessary have to buy it online.

Before I start writing my review about the Liquid Gold Smoothing and Perfecting Mask let me tell you who's Alpha H and why I think it is so special.

Alpha H is an Australian award-winning brand founded by Michelle Doherty who suffered from adult acne which she found incredibly debilitating (physically but psychologically, too). After having unsuccesfully tried several treatments, drugs and homeopathy, she decied to invest her money and energy to find THE solution.

She decided to focus on Glycolic Acid to stimulate the skin and its defense mechanisms in order to get the fastest results. This means that Alpha H products are suitable to all people with skin problems such as scars, dark spots, but also dry skin and...AGEING. Really?? Yes Glycolic acid is also very hydrating, and YES glycolic acid is also a great ageing enemy.

I've heard so many amazing things about Alpha H Liquid Gold Smoothing and Perfecting Mask that I've decided to test it.

This products claims to be:
The perfect solution for balancing and exfoliating your skin, leaving it fresher, clearer and brighter. Assists in the healing process of skin inflammations and treatment of scarring. Macadamia nut oil, Rose and Lavender extracts provide essential hydration to lacklustre and dehydrated skin.

This mask has a content of 15% glycolic acid therefore you should only use it once a week.

Here's the ingredients list:
Aqua, Kaolin, Potassium Glycolate, Glycolic Acid, Glycerin, Cocoglycerides, Glyceryl Stearate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Macadamia Ternifolia Oil, Wheat Germ Oil, Ceteth-2, Propylene Glycol, Lavandula Angustifolia Oil, Allantoin, Xanthan Gum, Diazolidinyl Urea, Miel, Rosa Damascena Flower Oil, Methylparaben, Propylparaben.

The mask has a relaxing lavender scent and is very easy to apply (I use a foundation brush). You will feel a tingling sensation and after 10 minutes you wash it off with a hot cloth.

I could never imagine such visible results just after the first use. Pore size reduced, skin texture refined and plus the clay absorbes excess oil, but without being too agressive. Even better than a professional facial and the results will last for days.

This is a real good mask, the best I've ever tried in my life. BUT if you have a very sensitive skin I wouldn't recommend it to you.

Also bear in mind that Glycolic acid makes your skin more reactive to UVA and UVB, therefore you should always apply a high SPF.

*****************************************************************************

Aqua, Kaolin, Potassium Glycolate, Glycolic Acid, Glycerin, Cocoglycerides, Glyceryl Stearate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Macadamia Ternifolia Oil, Wheat Germ Oil, Ceteth-2, Propylene Glycol, Lavandula Angustifolia Oil, Allantoin, Xanthan Gum, Diazolidinyl Urea, Miel, Rosa Damascena Flower Oil, Methylparaben, Propylparaben.

Provatela e fatemi sapere ;)

Weleda - Hand and Nail care

I've been a Nail Tech for almost 10 years now, and you can imagine how excited I get anytime I can try some hand/nail products.

The ultra famous Weleda brand, leader in the field of natural cosmetics, kindly sent me this hand/nails kit to test. These products are part of the Pomegranate collection.

Let's start with the Pomegranate Regenerating Hand Cream. This is actually an anti-ageing hand cream and it won the Cosmopolitan Prix de Beauté in 2010 so you might have already heard about it. Rich in organic shea butter, that protects from moisture loss, and plant extracts that stimulate cell renewal, this cream will protect your hands from all daily enemies, such as wind, water, soaps, etc. Everytime I wash my hands they look so wrinkly and rough after. I've started using this cream regularly and I can tell you that my hands look much softer, smoother and firmer... actually younger!
I would recommend this cream also because it's not greasy and smells amazing!

When it comes to new products Weleda has launched 3 super practical and easy-to-use nail pens.

The Cuticle Remover Pen, that contains organic pomegranate seed oil, is the best way to gently remove cuticles. Simply apply the product directly on the cuticle area, let soak for a while and then push back with the cap of the pen. It works perfectly and this should always be the first step of your manicure.

The Nail Care Pen also contains organic pomegranate seed oil and it is meant to protect your nails and cuticles. If you suffer from very dry hands, or if you're washing your hands many times a day, you should use a specific product for your nails and cuticles. This is actually a brush, so it is even easier to apply the product, just like a nailpolish.

The Nail Oil Pen protects and restore your nails and cuticles leaving a beautiful shine on your nail plate. I would suggest this product for example to those who have just removed artificial nails, in order to restore the natural balance of the nail. If you don't like nailpolish but want nice and shiny nails this could be the right product for you.

Dr. Hauschka - Daily Hydrating Eye Cream

The reason why you should use a specific product on the skin around your eyes is very easy: the skin in that area is thinner and more sensitive, therefore the formulation of the product is different from a face cream.

If you are still not using an Eye Cream you should start, and the one I'm reviewing today might be the right solution for you.

The Daily Hydrating Eye Cream by Dr. Hauschka nourishes and refines the delicate skin around the eyes, which is particularly prone to wrinkles and dryness. This moisture-rich preparation safely and naturally firms, leaving skin soft and smooth.

Pineapple, marsh mallow and calendula have a revitalizing, calming effect, smoothing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Rose distillate, blended with nurturing avocado, macadamia nut and sea buckthorn oils moisturize, nourish and tone.

It is suitable for all skin types and since it's a non-greasy, rapidly absorbed cream, it can also be applied before using make up. I've been using this Eye Cream for a while now, and I've noticed that when I apply the concealer over it doesn't crease at all.

During one month I've been applying this wonderful cream every morning on my cleansed skin and I can tell you that the fine lines around my eyes are way less visible. As a general feeling the skin in that area feels much less dry.

Some information regarding its quality and ingredients:
  • Truly natural and organic cosmetics, certified to NATRUE and/or BDIH standards
  • Free from synthetic fragrances, dyes and preservatives
  • Free from mineral oils, parabens, silicone and PEG
  • Dermatologically tested for sensitive skin
  • Wherever possible, all raw materials come from controlled organic or Demeter cultivation and are recovered under fair conditions

If you're into natural products of the highest quality you should definitely try this Eye Cream and this amazing brand.

OPI - Brazil Collection

In order to celebrate the upcoming Football World Cup, OPI has lately launched his spring/summer collection getting inspiration from the the Country who will be hosting this great event: Brazil. The collection features 12 new shades, and most of them are cremes.

I've received 3 nailpolishes from the Brazil Collection to test: Amazon...Amazoff, Where did Suzi's Man-go? and I just can't cope-cabana.

I've been playing with them and this is what came out...

Of course I would never wear these nailarts all togheter :) I just wanted to show you 4 different designs so that you can take inspiration from them. Hope you like them.

Pink spring at Clinique

The spring is PINK at Clinique.

I've been enjoying playing with the gorgeous products that Clinique sent me a while ago, especially their A Different Nail Enamel nailpolish in shade 04 hi sweetie.

Let's see the result :)

As you can see the color is AMAZING, the hottest pink you can imagine. I've added some glitters for a  more particular look, and I'm very happy with the result.

The quality of this nailpolish is great, it's very easy to apply and provide good coverage. It also contains a protective film that makes it last very long. I've applied a top coat anyway, especially to protect the glitters. Last but not least it is appropriate for sensitive eyes and skin.

For a total pink look you could also consider these other products:

Cheek Pop blusher in 03 berry pop

Born liquid, then backed, this blusher is very easy to apply and blend. Stays all day and the 4 shades available are simply gorgeous! Plus how could you say no to such a sweet packaging??

Chubby Stick in 15 pudgy peony

Super-nourishing balm is loaded with mango and shea butters. Just what dry, delicate lips need to feel comfortably soft and smooth. Sixteen natural-looking lip tints in all, each with a subtle sheen. Grab this now, it is going to be THE spring and summer color.

Have you already tried some of these products? Leave your comment below :)

Sebastian Professional - Re-Shaper and Drynamic

I've been wearing short hair for almost one year now, and I'm feeling so comfortable and at my ease that I could never go back to longer hair.
When I had long hair I used to take care of them with loads of products, treatments and TIME.
Now my only issue is to find good products for the styling.

I've been testing these 2 products by Sebastian Professional for a while and want to let you know how I'm using them.

The Re-Shaper hairspray is a strong-lasting, re-shapable, brushable and humidity resistant spray. I wear my hair "wild" and thanks to this great product I've abandoned gel and wax. Very easy to use I simply spray it on dry hair and use my hand to shape a wild style. This hairspray is reworkable for up to 18 hours. Last but not least it smells very good, unlike most hairsprays.

The Drynamic is a very good dry shampoo, perfect to refresh your hair or give texture to your styling. I find this product very smart and effective, especially for people like me that go to the gym. Since I prefer washing my hair at home I spray this dry shampoo on my roots after my workout to refresh the hair, for an instant fresh look. I also find it amazing to gain more volume before I use my hairspray. In this case I spray some dry shampoo all over my head while massaging it with my hands. This products is also available in travel size for a refreshing on the go. It smells gorgeous as well.

March Favourites

1. L'Occitane en Provence Néroli & Orchidée Eau de Toilette: This is actually my favourite fragrance. It's not easy for me to find a fragrance that I really like, but this one made me fall in love immediately. The packaging is very elegant and sophisticated, while the scent with its zesty and floral notes is so delicate and feminine. Follow this link to read my complete review and to see the whole Néroli & Orchidée collection.

2. Covergirl LashBlastVolume mascara waterproof: a mascara junkie would try at least a new mascara each week, and so do I :) If you've read my "February Favourites" already you might know that I'm actually more into waterproof mascaras, my must when I go to the gym. I've been trying this one and the result was just impressive! The silicone brush is quite big, easy to use and catches all your lashes in seconds. The formula is pretty thick, but in fact it provides great volume. I've been wearing it at the gym during the week and it didn't smudge at all. Actually my favourite mascara!

3. Lush Feeling Younger: It takes you a while, but when you learn how to use it you're going to love it for the rest of your life! This skin tint, which is enriched with oats, almond oil, jojoba and cocoa butter, also contains a pigment that reflects light. You can use it on its own or add it to your day cream/foundation. The final result will be a gorgeous glow. I also use it as highliter with my make up, especially to highlight my brow bone or the chick bones.

4. Urban Decay Naked lipstick: I'm currently in love with this brand, especially when it comes to eyeshadow, so I wanted to try a lipstick as well. I bought this one in shade "Naked" because I was actually looking for a very natural color, just to enhance, and eventually correct, the natural color of my lips. The color is just perfect for my needs and plus it is a longlasting formula, even better if used togheter with the matching lip pencil.

5. Kiko Cupcake nail lacquer: You may know I'm a nail polish junkie as well :) In fact I own a huge collection. These new collection by Kiko caught my attention immediately when I saw it for the first time on Instagram. I like the colors and the final look as well. Very different and innovative. Also perfect if you're not too precise when applying it...

6. Maybelline Masterdrama khol liner: still the blackest, thickest black kohl I've ever tried. (If you know others please let me know). This is actually my favourite for the upper/lower waterline. It's a longlasting liner but you'd better fix your under eye area with some powder in order to reduce under-eye "smudges".

Hope you liked my "March Favourites", please don't forget to leave the link to yours in the comments. I will take a look at them ;)

L'Occitane en Provence - Néroli & Orchidée

Part of the "La Collection de Grasse" the Néroli & Orchidée collection was composed by Karine Dubreuil, private perfumer for L'Occitane who grew up in Provence. She's declared that she was inspired by her childhood memories when composing this fragrance:

"When you've grown up in Provence , orange blossom is probably one of the first scents you can recall. Every home has a small bottle filled with flowers from the last harvest.
Neroli is the essence of unions and purity, yet ist scent is far from innocent. Its encounter with the orchid, a flower from the other side of the world, is in no way a coincidence.
While both essences seem so different, both white flowers are symbolic of femininity, and associated with affection, tenderness, delicateness and sensuality." (Karine Dubreuil)

It's image would be a pearly white flower on a piece of silk, while it's spirit a perfect oxymoron: innocence and audacity, tenderness and sensuality, ingenuousness and maturity.

When it comes to the fragrance itself, the first impression, the head notes, would be zesty notes of orange and mandarin. The tenderness of neroli belongs to the heart notes, while the elegance of the orchid is in the base notes, togheter with musk and iris.

The Néroli & Orchidée Eau de Toilette will seduce you in its highest form, while for a complementary experience you have more options.

The Fragrance Beautifying Cream, for example, is a body cream that enhances your fragrance and helps it last longer. The neutral floral notes of this cream blend perfectly with all of the Collection de Grasse fragrances. Fresh and with a smooth, rich texture it will leave your skin moisturized and satiny.

Shower gel, Body Milk, Perfumed Soap and a Scented Candle are also available for the true lovers of this wonderful and ultra feminine collection.

Easter at LUSH!

I went to LUSH to see what's new, and the nice Antonella, the store manager, introduced me to the Easter Collection.

As usual the designs are super cute, and the fragrances are amazing! But let's go through the whole collection.

GOLDEN EGG Bath Bomb

A glistening golden bath melt and bath bomb rolled into one. Because of its luxurious bath melt outer layer, when you first drop this into the bath it will sink down, then bob back to the top as the bath bomb centre begins to fizz away, filling your bath water with its sumptuous honey-toffee fragrance.

BUNNY Bubble Bar

Inspired by the White Rabbit in Alice in Wonderland, this little fellow is full of rich oils and butters to leave your skin soft and conditioned. With the comforting smell of Fair Trade vanilla absolute, and filled with blue cornflowers to float through the water and surround you in the bath.

CARROT Soap

Looks like a carrot, smells like a refreshing tropical fruit juice. Every slice of this tropical smelling, limited edition Easter soap has a white rabbit leaping through the middle! The orange part is made with moisturising carrot seed oil, and in the white is lots of skin-softening Fair Trade Organic cocoa butter. Plus, the tropical, fruity smell of buchu, lemon and bergamot essential oils will linger on your skin.

BUNCH OF CARROTS Bubble Bars

Swish a carrot around your bath to enjoy soft clouds of bubbles and tropically scented water. Although these reusable bubble bars may do a convincing carrot impression, their fragrance definitely gives them away: buchu, lemon and grapefruit oils create a tropical, blackcurranty and refreshing bath.

BRIGHTSIDE Bubble Bar

When you’re chewing on life’s gristle, don’t grumble, give a whistle! Hop in the bath with one of these uplifting bubble bars, Sicilian mandarin, bergamot and tangerine essential oils to help you look on the bright side of life! Its jazzy bright colours will create magnificent orange bath water, and the sunny citrus fragrance is sure to leave you jolly and refreshed.

FLUFFY EGG Bath Bomb

This is our answer to a chocolate Easter egg: a pretty pink, sugary sweet, candy-scented bath bomb. Fragranced with an old Lush favourite, Candy Fluff – hence the name Fluffy Egg. An irresistible, nostalgic sweet-shop smell will lift the spirits and help you feel calm and relaxed. Drop this sweet little egg into warm water for fizzing pink fun.

IMMACULATE EGGCEPTION PINK or YELLOW Bath Bomb

This amazing bath bomb comes in two different colours; yellow or pink. They both share the same delectable fragrance, with zesty lemon oil to uplift the senses, refreshing grapefruit oil and sweet and comforting Fair Trade vanilla absolute from the Rwenzori Mountains in Uganda. Crack the egg open to discover another bath bomb inside - either a yellow chick or a white bunny. Dropped into warm water, this bath bomb creates a beautiful, pink, yellow and orange bath.

CARROT Gift Set

Everyone knows that the main reason we love carrots is because they help us see in the dark… but this giant carrot's extra special because it's filled with carroty things to help you enjoy your bath! The perfect ending to an Easter egg hunt! And you can even use your Carrot again afterwards. How about for storing more Lush goodies?

FUNNY BUNNY Gift set

Tied up inside this organic cotton knot-wrap is a selection of limited edition Easter treats. This knot-wrap is made by re-wrap, a cooperative in Mysore, India which empowers local women by offering them training and employment. Inside it you will find a plain cardboard sphere which can be customised however you like – use it to write a secret message or draw a picture, or leave it plain for the lucky gift recipient to get creative with!

You'd better hurry up because Easter Collection is going sold out very quickly....
